It’s super easy to get in touch. Just drop me a message on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, or via my contact form. I’ll respond quickly to confirm availability. Once you're happy to move forward, I’ll send over a contract for review. To secure your date, weddings require a £200 booking fee, while other events require a 50% deposit—both deducted from your final balance.
Yes. I offer two discounts at present-

I also offer a £50 discount off my Premium, Ultimate and Elopement wedding packages to any couples who have an unplugged ceremony (no mobile phones used by guests) as it make the images so much nicer and my life easier.

I shoot with two professional Nikon mirrorless cameras, each equipped with built-in multi-card backups to keep your photos safe. My premium Nikon lenses ensure stunning image quality, with natural, beautifully blurred backgrounds—no Photoshop tricks needed. I use zoom lenses to discreetly capture candid moments from a distance and a macro lens for intricate details. Want to know more? I’m happy to share my full kit list upon request!
For weddings, your final balance is due 30 days before your big day—simple and stress-free. If it helps, I can arrange installments leading up to the due date. For all other events, the remaining balance is due within 7 days of your session. Flexible, hassle-free, and tailored to suit you!
Yes, I provide a contract for all photography services to ensure complete clarity on what's included—usage rights, turnaround times, and all the essential details. This protects both of us and sets clear expectations from the start. If you have any questions, I’m more than happy to walk you through the terms before you book!
Yes, I am fully insured with both public liability (£2m) and professional indemnity coverage (£1 million), giving you complete peace of mind. My drone photography is also covered by specialist drone insurance. You can trust that I operate professionally and responsibly at all times. If you need proof of insurance for your records, just let me know—I’ll be happy to provide it.
No worries—I’ve got this covered. I shoot with professional cameras, each equipped with dual memory cards for instant backups, and I always carry a third camera as a backup. After your event, your photos are securely stored in the cloud and backed up on two solid-state drives, with one safely kept in a fireproof case. I take every precaution to ensure your memories are protected, so even in the rarest of technical hiccups, your photos are safe.
As with all professional photographers, all images remain the property of Alan Ruiz Photography Ltd; however, you’ll have full rights to print and share them for personal use. You’ll receive high-resolution, watermark-free JPEGs, ready for printing, sharing, and downloading as often as you like. For corporate packages, a commercial use license is issued separately from the contract.
Yes! I love the timeless, unique look that film photography provides. I offer the option to shoot on film in both colour and black and white. For more details, check out my wedding package enhancements page!
Rain? Shine? No problem! All my equipment is weather-sealed and ready to go. If the weather gets wild, we might need to move indoors or under cover to keep your outfit and makeup looking flawless. But if there’s a break in the rain, we can always pop outside for some extra photographs. There’s no limit on how many we can shoot (well almost!!).
I shoot everything in colour but use my discretion to decide which images look best in colour or black and white. I can always reverse this if you want a specific image changed. Typically, 20% of your photographs will be in black and white, depending on the vibe you're going for. If you love black-and-white as much as I do and want your full gallery in black and white let me know, and I'll make it happen!
I’m based in Kinross-shire but always happy to hit the road to capture your special day. For events more than an hour’s drive away, I charge reasonable fuel expenses, which we’ll agree on upfront—no surprises.
The number of photographs depends on things like how many guests you have, the length of the event, and the weather. For an 8-hour day, I would expect to take 2,000 to 4,000 photos and deliver 600 to 900 beautifully edited photographs that tell the story of your day.
A few artistic portrait style shots can often be the highlight shots of your day, and the ones you choose to print and hang over the mantlepiece in years to come. But only if you want them. I prefer a more relaxed approach to keep things natural but we can also do that with portrait style photos. Rather than stiff poses, I’ll guide you to take a walk together or just enjoy the moment, and I’ll capture you being your wonderful selves. These candid portraits fit seamlessly into the story of your day and feel much more “you". There are often great opportunities with the bride before the ceremony for beautiful portrait photos. Although if that's not your thing, we'll avoid it.
I’m covered with professional indemnity and public liability insurance for total peace of mind—for both you and your venue. Before your event, I’ll also provide a simple contract that spells everything out, so we’re all on the same page.
I don’t provide RAW files because they’re unedited and don’t represent my finished work. The high-resolution, edited jpeg images that I will issue are the best representation of my creative vision.
After your wedding, I take my time to carefully review and pick the best of the best, editing each photograph to bring out the details and perfect the look. This process takes time, but it’s worth it. Your final gallery will be ready within 6 weeks, though I always aim to deliver them sooner if I can.
For bigger weddings or events with multiple locations, a second photographer is a great idea. They’ll help cover more ground, capture extra angles, and make sure nothing is missed. It really is your decision, but regardless I'll ensure I provide coverage of your day that you will be delighted with. If you decide you want the extra coverage then you can add a second photographer to any package.
Group photos are a wedding classic, and I’m here to make them as smooth as possible. We’ll sort out the details and create a list of group shots ahead of time.
Yes. I specifically bought a sub 250 gram drone as this can be legally flown almost anywhere. I have all the necessary approvals, training and I also have commercial drone insurance.
No. I am not VAT registered as my business turnover is under the limit stipulated by HMRC. This means I don't need to add VAT on my prices.
