Thank you for considering me as your wedding photographer at the beautiful Grouse and Claret in Kinross.
It was lovely chatting with you yesterday. Just to make sure we’re on the same page, I’ve put together a quick summary of our chat below. Have a read when you get a chance and let me know if I’ve got anything wrong or missed anything.
- You’re planning a relaxed and friendly wedding day and are drawn to natural, candid, documentary-style photography rather than lots of posed or staged shots.
- You want the wedding to feel warm, informal, and personal—not rigid or overly traditional.
- You have booked the lovely Mary Docherty as your celebrant.
- Your ceremony start time is 2pm. You plan to be at Gemma’s house for preparations (hair, makeup, etc.) and to leave there at around quarter to two. I would start coverage of your preparations at 12pm and leave Gemma’s at 1:15pm to travel to the Grouse and Claret to catch up with Neil and get prepared. This means we’d need to have completed your preparation photos by that time.
- You’d like getting-ready photos of you and the other ladies, as well as your dress.
- Neil isn’t too concerned about photos of him and the other men getting ready, but I can perhaps catch some of them at the Grouse and Claret beforehand if time allows.
- After the ceremony, you’re planning a drinks reception for your guests while we take some couple photos and family formals.
- There will be around 11 children attending, including babies and toddlers.
- The meal will be around 5pm but will depend on the timing of events after the ceremony.
- You’d like me to stay and cover the first few dances, which would mean finishing at 8pm (with the first dance roughly at 7:30pm).
- You’re not planning confetti shots or traditional staged photos at the moment, but this can always change nearer the day if you decide.
- Overall, your main priority is a relaxed, low-key day that flows naturally and feels true to you, rather than sticking to tradition.
I’m excited about the opportunity to capture your special day exactly the way you envision it. As a gift from me to you both, I’ve included a roll of 35mm film in your package, normally worth £75.

What deposit do I pay?
A non-refundable deposit of £200 is payable to secure the date.
When is the final payment due?
Your final balance is due 30 days before your wedding day. I also offer the opportunity to pay in instalments up to this date if it helps. I accept BACS or PayPal (3% fee applies) payment.
How do we book?
Drop me an email or give me a call to discuss any questions you may have or changes you want to your tailored packages. When you are ready to book I will send you a contract to review.
How can we ensure you don't lose our photos?
Don’t worry, I’ve got this. I shoot with professional cameras that each have dual memory cards, so every photo is backed up instantly. Plus, I always keep a third camera in the bag just in case. After your event, your photographs are saved to a secure cloud system and backed up on two separate solid-state drives (one stored safely in a fireproof case). I take every reasonable step I can to safeguard your memories, so even in the rarest of technical hiccups, your photos should be safe.
Are the photos ours?
Of course. You’ll get high-resolution, watermark-free digital photographs in jpeg format ready for printing, sharing, and downloading as often as you like. They’re all yours to enjoy.
